RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: HAROLD SMITH (5) was resuming since winning the Bendigo Cup in April when he was runner up behind the subsequent Inter Dominion winner Arcee Phoenix at Melton on June 21. He is a very strong trotter and is versatile so he should prove hard to beat. IM BOBBY (6) has a terrible standing start record but he has been in outstanding form and will take beating if he is able to step away safely. He led throughout and scored softly in a mile of 1.54.3 at Menangle last week. ALDEBARAN ZEUS (7) has been defeated by IM BOBBY (6) at his past three attempts but he chased hard from a long way back at his latest third and the standing start conditions will be an advantage to him. ALDEBARAN VERA (8) has been runner up in three of her past four starts and she has won from a big handicap under the standing start conditions previously so she is not without a chance.
