RACE COMMENT
The Easter Cup, a Group 3 event, sees HORATIUS SPECULO (1) chasing a deserved major feature victory after a superb 12 months. He was good winner in his heat as a short-priced favourite and with his excellent stand-start manners, he looks the one to beat. PARDOE PLUGGA (5) began poorly in his heat when favourite but still nearly won — if he steps cleanly, he poses the main danger off the front and has the class to test the favourite. MAEBEE (8) did plenty of work in the heat when a strong 3rd, and a repeat performance would see him right in the finish. The highly assessed THE SHALLOWS (12) and MAGNETIC TERROR (13) bring class but will need luck from their handicaps in a race that may not feature strong mid-race moves.
