RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: SO JOE RAN (6) was performing well at the trials prior to her first two attempts, which yielded a sixth (8m) behind Usyk and a fourth behind Vincent Grange (7m). She is dropping back from the 0-1 win class into a genuine Maiden race so she should prove hard to beat. ONLY SON (5) is backing up quickly from his effort at Charlton on Monday but his form is good enough to be competitive in this event. He was placed behind Micton Mouse at Maryborough three starts ago. OBSYDIAN (10) should strip fitter from his first up performance at Charlton on Monday. He has always shown enough ability to be able to win against the Maiden class so he must be respected. SWEET EMMYLOU (11) has shown some improvement recently and was placed behind the in-form pacer Sea Hawke three starts ago so he rates as a value hope.
